ICT 2013 – Create, Connect, Grow

More than 4000 researchers, innovators, entrepreneurs, industry representatives, young people and politicians will get together in Vilnius. The event, a Europe 2020 initiative, organised in partnership with Lithuanian Presidency of the Council of European Union 2013, will focus on ICT in Horizon 2020, the EU’s Framework Programme for Research and Innovation for 2014-2020.

The ICT 2013 event will be structured in:

Conference: The Vice President of the European Commission, Neelie Kroes and the President of the Republic of Lithuania, Dalia Grybauskaitė will open the conference that will feature top ICT professionals from industry, academia, research.
Speakers from across the ICT sector will address a range of issues from cloud computing, broadband, ICT infrastructures, ICT skills, cyber security, long term visions on the future and much more. Experts will present details on how to participate in Horizon 2020. A special focus will be on Digital Futures – a journey into 2050’s futures and policy challenges.

Exhibition: ICT 2013 in Vilnius is a unique opportunity for projects and companies to showcase their research, ICT products and innovative creations.
More than 270 proposals were submitted for the ICT 2013 exhibition. 186 projects are selected to showcase the latest findings in advanced research, technologies, new systems, innovation in services & business and ICT products just coming to market. An art exhibit will be part of the exhibition.

Networking: The European Commission published an open call for Networking sessions at ICT2013, on March 2013. The selection committee selected 153 networking sessions that will be grouped into 13 topics at ICT2013. You can click on each topic to see the relating sessions, and you can start networking on line prior to the event.

The ICT 2013 event will be the first opportunity to present to all stakeholders the ICT priorities within Horizon 2020 that will begin in December 2013. In a series of work programme sessions, the Commission services will present the specific ICT challenges for 2014/2015.

The forum will host sessions dedicated to support for start-ups and innovative SMEs. It will allow networking between researchers, entrepreneurs, start-ups and innovative companies, students, investors and EU/EIB/EIF officials.
ICT 2013 is, also, an opportunity for students and young researchers to learn about ICT research opportunities and meet with researchers, entrepreneurs, strategy and policy makers.
